Dave Ochsendorf, MPT, MEd

Physical Therapist

Dave is from Elkins, WV where he grew up playing soccer, baseball, and basketball. His love for sports led him to West Virginia University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and became a certified Athletic Trainer. He then completed his Master of Education degree in Sports Medicine at the University of Virginia while completing a graduate assistantship at Virginia Military Institute.

He continued to work as an athletic trainer for the football and wrestling teams at VMI for 4 years. In 2000 he moved to Norfolk, Virginia to pursue his career in physical therapy. At Old Dominion University, he earned his Master of Physical Therapy degree, and met his wife Kristy. He and Kristy traveled the country, working in outpatient orthopedic clinics in Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Washington D.C., Arizona, California, and Hawaii. They fell in love with Sarasota, FL, and decided to settle here in 2008.

Dave specializes in evaluating and treating the foot and ankle. He has extensive undergraduate, graduate, and internship training in foot and ankle biomechanics, which he applies to his physical therapy practice.

Dave's background in sports medicine is an added advantage when treating all upper and lower extremity injuries. Dave is an avid runner and has been racing with Team New Balance since 2013.

He also uses manual skills learned in various parts of the country and in additional coursework to effectively treat the spine. When applied properly, Dave believes the principles of biomechanical correction, sports medicine treatments and manual therapy yield great results for clients of all ages.

Kristy Ochsendorf, DPT

Physical Therapist

Kristy grew up in Ohio where she was a member of the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet Company from ages 5-16. She graduated from Ohio University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. She then moved to Norfolk, Virginia to attend Old Dominion University and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2004.

Upon graduation, she and husband Dave worked as traveling physical therapists for five years, practicing in Hawaii, California, Maryland, Washington DC, Connecticut, Arizona, and Florida.

Kristy and Dave fell in love with the active community of Sarasota, moved here in 2008, and then opened Siesta Key Sports & Physical Therapy in 2010.

Kristy's passion and enthusiasm for exercise combined with manual skills learned across the country translate into exceptional results for her clients. She takes a scientific and evidence-based approach, applying principles of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics to successfully treat a variety of acute conditions as well as movement disorders and postural dysfunctions. She participates in many community races from 5K's to half-marathons and duathlons. She also enjoys regular yoga and weight training.

Rene' Bourdeau, MPT

Physical Therapist

Originally from Illinois, Rene’ Bourdeau, MPT, proudly embraces her Midwestern roots. She earned a scholarship to run cross country and track while completing her associate’s degree before choosing to serve her country in the U.S. Army. During her military service, she specialized in Emergency Medical Training (EMT) and Pharmacy, experiences that deepened her commitment to healthcare and helping others.

Following her service, Rene’ pursued her dream of becoming a physical therapist, earning her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, in 2002. Over the course of her career, she has practiced in a wide range of settings, including traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, acute inpatient orthopedics, and home health. Her true passion, however, lies in outpatient orthopedics and sports training. Rene’ has worked extensively with athletes and has developed conditioning programs for youth sports focused on performance and injury prevention.

Rene’ brings extensive experience in physical rehabilitation, including orthopedics, neurological conditions, vestibular dysfunction, and balance disorders. She excels in patient education and takes pride in creating individualized treatment strategies that help patients achieve their health and functional goals. Her clinical skills include manual therapy, manipulations, neuromuscular re-education, balance training, and deep core strengthening.

Known for her warm smile and encouraging attitude, Rene’ helps guide her patients through every stage of recovery.

Rene’ has been part of the Sarasota community since 2004. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring nature, and staying active through running, biking, paddleboarding, and beach volleyball. She also enjoys writing poetry, drawing, practicing yoga, and lifelong learning.

Peter Dunn, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Peter was born and raised in the Kansas City area and went on to pursue a career as a professional luthier and small business owner in Annapolis, Maryland. After a positive experience as a patient of physical therapy himself, Peter was inspired to pursue a new path in the field of physical therapy.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the CACHE PTA Program at Anne Arundel Community College in Severna Park, Maryland in 2016 and went on to work in outpatient settings treating a wide variety of conditions and specializing Parkinson's Disease. In 2018, Peter relocated to Sarasota where he continues to pursue a passion for helping others move and feel better. He likes to explore a variety of movement practices including yoga and weightlifting and recently obtained certification in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).  In his free time Peter continues to enjoy repairing guitars and writing music.

Rachael Gardner, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Rachael Gardner, PTA, was born and raised in a small town outside of Cleveland, Ohio, before relocating to Sarasota with her family in 2012. She began her studies in pre-nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers and later returned to Sarasota, where she graduated from the CACHE PTA program at the State College of Florida in Bradenton.

Rachael has a strong background in movement and fitness, including weightlifting, dance, and various other disciplines. She enjoys working with a diverse range of patients, with clinical interests in orthopedic rehabilitation, geriatrics, and pain management.

Outside the clinic, Rachael loves spending time with her family and pets, going to the beach, lifting weights with friends, and cheering on Ohio State football.

Kristen Keyser, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Originally from New Jersey, Kristen Keyser discovered her passion for physical therapy after a soccer injury led to an ACL reconstruction. The recovery was challenging, but the skill and support of her physical therapists made a lasting impact, ultimately inspiring her to help others overcome physical setbacks and return to the activities they love.

Kristen graduated from the SCF Physical Therapist Assistant Program (CAPT) in 2021. Now married to a Sarasota native and a proud mom of two sons, she balances family life with an active lifestyle. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and staying connected to the sports that shaped her journey.

Roxane Sergi

Clinic Administrator

A native of France, Roxane was born and raised in Paris before relocating to Sarasota in 2003, where she learned to speak English. She holds an Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration and began her career as an office assistant at a Parisian clinic while earning her Dental Assistant diploma.

With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare administration, Roxane has successfully managed clinics across multiple medical specialties. Over the past decade, she has developed a strong background in physical therapy operations and was proud to bring her expertise to the Siesta Key Physical Therapy team.

In her role, Roxane oversees the clinic’s daily operations and ensures a seamless experience for every patient. Her responsibilities include patient communication, scheduling, and coordinating care to support both the clinical team and the patients served.

Outside of work, Roxane enjoys spending time with her family, sewing, traveling, and creating memory scrapbooks.

Hannah King, DPT

Hannah is originally from the Bradenton/Sarasota area. She received her Bachelors in Health Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Boston University before moving back to the area in 2019 with her husband Nick.

She has experience in pain management, orthopedics, inpatient orthopedic and neurorehabilitation, and geriatrics. Hannah enjoys treating a diverse patient population and focuses her care on holistic patient management.

Hannah's special interests include:

When not in the clinic, Hannah enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband Nick and Aussiedoodle Piper, and doing CrossFit.
